Tyler Brothers

Settled in 1887, Wagener, South Carolina is a one-stoplight kind of town. Tyler Brothers has proudly served the small, vibrant community since 1904. The store, now run by the third generation of Tylers, began as a general mercantile and evolved into the Ace Hardware that it is today. The store sells apparel, shoes, hardware, hunting gear, pistols, lawn and garden supplies and more.

“We also have two boot trucks that travel to industrial plants throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia,” said co-owner John Tyler. “Customers can call the store to find out when one of our trucks will be in their area.”

Tyler Brothers has sold Carhartt apparel since the early 1990s because of its quality and value. In fact, the store is a 2005 Hamilton Carhartt Award winner, which is Carhartt’s top award for retail excellence.

When it comes to community giving, Tyler Brothers philosophy is “if you take something out of the community, you best put something back in.” To that end, the store supports the local FFA chapter, high school sports, rodeos and t-ball.
